Oftentimes innovations are the result of a collaboration between two or more companies. In these instances one company may take the lead and manage the commercial (Customer) transaction, but critical elements of the innovation are the work product of others. Examples include OEM brokered join-upsbetween suppliers with complimentary capabilities, and automotive suppliers who partner with non-traditional suppliers to adapt advanced technologies/practices to the automotive domain: A good test would be to ask whether your collaborator could independently craft their own PACE Award entry for their elements of this innovation.
